Brezza Car Cover: Which Model Year Fits, 2016–2022 or 2022–2026?

There are two Brezza generations on Indian roads and they take different covers. If your Brezza was manufactured between 2016 and 2022 it is the Vitara Brezza generation; from 2022 onward it is the current Brezza. Check the manufacturing year on your registration certificate and order the cover listed for that range — the two bodies are different enough that a cover cut for one will not sit correctly on the other.

The two generations at a glance

How to be certain which one you have

  1. Read the manufacturing year on your RC. This is the reliable method. Use the manufacturing year, not the registration year and not the year you bought the car — a car built in late 2021 and registered in 2022 is still the earlier generation.
  2. Check the badge on the tailgate. "Vitara Brezza" means the 2016–2022 car. Plain "Brezza" means the current one.
  3. Look at the roof. A contrast black or white roof over a different body colour points to the earlier generation.
  4. If still unsure, use the VIN plate. It is under the bonnet or on the driver's door sill and carries the manufacturing month and year.

Border years — a Brezza manufactured in 2022 — are the only genuinely ambiguous case. If your RC says 2022, go by the badge and the roof.

Why the wrong generation is a real problem on an SUV

Brezza-sized SUVs are less forgiving of a bad fit than hatchbacks, for three reasons.

More vertical surface. The sides of an SUV present a larger area to the wind. A loose panel on a Brezza catches considerably more wind than the same slack on a Swift, and a flapping panel rubbing dusty fabric across the paint is what causes the swirl marks people blame covers for.

Higher roofline. A cover that is short in the wrong place will not reach the bottom of the bumpers, leaving the lower body and the rear bumper — the parts that get the most splash — uncovered.

Roof rails and a shark-fin antenna. These need the pattern to allow for them. A cover stretched tight over a rail or the antenna base tears at that point first.

See the car cover size and fit guide for the five-point fit check to run the first time you put a cover on.

Which Brezza cover to choose

Once the generation is right, the choice is about what you are protecting against.

  • Featherlite — lightweight waterproof fabric with mirror pockets. The sensible choice if you take the cover on and off daily, because lifting a cover over an SUV roof is where weight is felt most. See the Brezza Featherlite cover.
  • Supersoft — soft inner lining, waterproof, UV protected, dust proof, cut on a separate pattern per model and generation. The choice if paint safety is your first concern. See the Brezza Supersoft cover.
  • All Weather — polyester with triple stitching, heavy buckle and strong belt, mirror pockets and an elastic bottom. The choice for a Brezza parked outdoors year-round where wind is a factor. See the Brezza All Weather cover.
  • 360° Protection — 150 GSM fabric with a detachable lower section that zips on to enclose the area beneath the car. The choice if rats are a recurring problem in your parking spot. Pick your Brezza generation on the Maruti Suzuki 360° cover page.

Not sure which line? The buying guide works through fit, fabric, coverage and fastening in order.

Common questions

Will a Vitara Brezza cover fit the new Brezza?
No. The body shape changed with the 2022 generation. Order the cover listed for your manufacturing year.

Does the 2024 Brezza facelift need a different cover?
No. It sits within the 2022–2026 range.

My Brezza has a sunroof. Does that change anything?
No. A sunroof does not change the external body shape the cover follows.

I have aftermarket roof rails or a luggage carrier fitted. What then?
Tell us before ordering. Anything mounted on the roof changes the shape the cover has to go over.

Can I use a Grand Vitara cover on a Brezza?
No. They are different sizes, and a larger cover will bag and flap.

What if my cover feels slightly loose when fitted?
Check it is seated first: mirrors in their pockets, cover centred, elastic hem pulled under both the front and rear. Most loose-feeling covers are simply not pulled down fully at one end.
